Do you believe that you are in control of your health? It seems that we go along day-to-day hoping that we don’t get any number of diseases. Just hoping that something won’t happen. What if you knew that there are things that you can do, starting today, starting right now, that you can do to help your body steer toward feeling better? Would you do it? Would you take control of your own wellbeing in an effort to at least raise the odds of your body being well? And lowering the odds of something happening? Continue reading “You Are The Captain”

What Do You Eat For Fun?
That question was part of a conversation I was having a couple of months ago with someone who had recently finished cancer treatment. We were talking about how to change her diet to help her body recover. As my holistic doctor always says, “We don’t eat for fun, we eat to nourish our bodies”. Exactly. My Break-up With Sugar
Processed Sugar and I are on a trial separation. You know, it’s been coming for a long time…it’s been a rocky road…so finally, three weeks ago I’d had enough. Sure it’s been hard, no break up is ever easy. I’ve loved sugar for a long time…as long as I can remember…most of my life. And I know sugar loves me…it’s so obvious when it brings me delicious cookies, brownies, and especially ice cream. It even hides in other foods just to surprise me. But I know it’s better for me to live without sugar. I’ve come to realize that it really only brought negatives to the relationship anyway. Since we broke up I’m feeling better, my skin is clearer, my clothes fit better (and by better I mean looser), and I won’t be letting it contribute to things like autoimmune disease, inflammation, heart disease, brain fog, obesity, diabetes, arthritis, and cancer in my body. How Did I Get Here?
How did I get to where I am today? To a place where I feel a passion for natural health and sharing it with you? It has been an unexpected path that began three years ago. Actually, it most likely began long before that but it all came to a head three years ago. Continue reading “How Did I Get Here?”

I Can Eat My Sunscreen!
It’s true. And although I realize this is the last weekend of summer, I want to share this with you. Maybe you will still have a few nice days to spend in the sun, or maybe you are lucky enough to live somewhere sunny and warm year round, or plan to go somewhere tropical for vacation. Continue reading “I Can Eat My Sunscreen!”
What I Learned From My Dog’s Food
I’ve had dogs for a long time. Ok, all my life. That’s a long time. We’ve always fed them whatever dog food is convenient to buy, and hopefully fairly inexpensive, something that you can pick up at the grocery store, Target or Wal-Mart. Years ago (before the fancy dog foods were popular) the vet would ask what dog food I was feeding my dog. She was thought the convenient, fairly inexpensive dog food was fine.
